Who is spoken to?
In Genesis 6:14, we have the following commandment of God: “Make yourself an ark of gopher wood.” Is it necessary for us today to build a ship out of gopher wood in order to please God? No, God does not want us to do this. This command was given to Noah. It was necessary for him to obey it in order to be saved from the great flood which God was going to send on all the world. But this command does not apply to us today. If we answer correctly, “Who is spoken to?” we will see this command was meant only for Noah.

Daily Reading
Sunday Feb 3/08 The LORD's Day As I ask last Sunday, if this is the Lord's day, how are we going to handle it. Will we put our Lord and Savior first and do the will of our Heavenly Father, by worshipping or will we put ourselves first. We have freewill to do what ever we please. It is up to us to make the choice. My prayer is that we all make the right choice.

Who is speaking?
Everything in the Bible was written by men who were inspired by God. However, these inspired writers sometimes recorded by inspiration the words of evil men. Even the words of Satan are found in the Bible (See Job 1:9-11; 2:4,5; Matthew 4:3,6,9). These words are accurately recorded, but they are not recommended for us to follow today. If one asks, "Who is speaking?" it will help him to know whether the words he is reading are words he should obey.
Job 1:9 So Satan answered the LORD and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing?
Job 1:10 Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.
Job 1:11 But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!"

HOW TO STUDY THE BIBLE
The Bible is a very big book. Actually, it is a library of 66 different books. There are 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament. These books are all joined together because they have one common theme. This theme is God's plan to save man from his sins through Jesus Christ. The first 39 books, the Old Testament, tell us that "Christ is coming." The first four books of the New Testament tell us that "Christ has come." The last 23 books of the New Testament tell us that "Christ is coming again." In order to understand the Bible properly, one needs to ask five questions as he reads: (1) Who is speaking? (2) Who is spoken to? (3) When is he speaking? (4) What type of language is the speaker using? (5) What are the circumstances or conditions under which he is speaking? If one can answer these five questions correctly, it will help him to understand the Word of God clearly.

Daily Reading
Father in Heaven, we come before You today asking that if any read and understand Your word, they would accept and obey. Father help us as we go from day to day, that we always put You first in our lives. Help us to put others before us that we might be a caring people. Help us to look for that home in Heaven with You Father. Forgive us when we sin and ask to be forgiven and repent of the sin. Bless us today Father. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

Are you following the teaching of God about baptism or the teachings of men? If you have not been baptized according to the teaching of the Word of God, will you not do so today? Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (Mark 16:16), repent of all your sins (Acts 2:38), confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (Acts 8:37) and be baptized into Christ (Galatians 3:26,27). Daily Reading
Some men teach that infants need to be baptized. The purpose of baptism, however, is to remove sin by the blood of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38; 22:16; Revelation 1:5). Do babies have sin? NO! One needs to understand that sin, as defined by the Bible is the breaking of God’s law (1 John 3:4). Infants are not capable of breaking the laws of God or understanding the difference between good and evil. Can a child inherit sin from its parents? NO! Ezekiel 18:20 makes it clear that, “The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.” From the passages above, one can see that babies do not have sin and therefore, do not need to be baptized. A careful and honest study of the Scriptures will help one to understand the truth about baptism. The Bible plainly teaches that baptism is essential to salvation. In addition, one learns from examples of conversion that baptism is immersion in water and that it is for those who are guilty of sin--not for infants.
