QUESTION: Where was Jesus residing during the forty days before He went to heaven?
ANSWER: During the period of His public ministry, Jesus did not enjoy a residing place as such. He said in Matthew 8:20, “the foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay His head.” There is no reason to think that in the forty days after His resurrection it was any different. He did “shew Himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them (the apostles) forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.” Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:5-8 of some of Christ’s appearances, being “seen of above five-hundred brethren at once.”However, we have no account of a residing place.
